The two hitmen, Howells and Nowak, track Ellen down and an altercation sees Nowak accidentally shoot himself. Pérez is told to concentrate on investigating Sally's death and leave Lizzie's death to a team from Glasgow. He's not seriously injured, but something he says causes Pérez to realize Merran – who was on the phone with her father when he was shot – recognised her mother's doorbell ring.
