I loved how they became friends and he created a safe place for her before they started seeing each other as more. Ryan offers for Zoey to stay with him and the two strike up a friendship, even though Zoey finds it hard to accept help from anyone.I wanted to hear more about Ryan and Zoey’s happily ever after, not a teaser for the next story in the series. More complications arise in not only his professional life but his personal life as well, and with his growing fondness for Zoey clouded with his reluctance to push her boundaries and her tendency to shutdown and flee when things get hard, Ryan is forced to make a decision that could ruin his chance at happiness with the woman who has somehow made herself into his home.

A lesser heroine might’ve seen Ryan as a gullible meal ticket, but Zoey never would’ve used him that way.

He treats her as he equal even though he's a rich hockey player and she's a homeless, unemployed high school graduate. I felt like the F word was used too much therefore degrading the love that was forming between them. fmc is homeless*slow burn with incredible build up*friends to lovers*protectorHockey romance is everywhere at the moment.
