I will point blank tell you that I think Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner is probably the definition of a perfect science fiction film. Blade Runner 2049” is the 2017 sequel to the 1982 Sci-Fi cult classic “ Blade Runner” (originally directed by Ridley Scott). The original film touched upon these themes, but they are given more weight in 2049, which makes for a more engaging story. The various oranges and reds, mixed with yellows and glossy creams in the Las Vegas sequence are gorgeously rendered.One of the upmost important things here is that the Director of Photography (DP) on this film was Roger Deakins, a legendary cinematographer, whose work speaks volumes just in its visuals.

Luke Scott (Ridley’s son), meanwhile, directs shorter film clips covering 2036 (providing a helpful bit of backstory to Niander Wallace) and 2048 (a less interesting introduction to Dave Bautista’s Sapper Morton character). The UHD Blu-ray was reviewed on a Samsung UE55KS8000 Ultra HD TV and a Samsung UBD-K8500 Ultra HD Blu-ray player.Some shots and scenes it's difficult to spot any real difference, but in scenes that feature deep shadows like Wallace's dark office or Sapper Morton's dark, shadowy home.
