About this deal

Targeted at young adults, the novel follows Leigh Howard, a teen girl sent to live with her überwealthy relatives after her parents are murdered. I hope there are others like this coming, but perhaps it would be better if the book remains a one off and not one of many, it has a stand-alone quality that I particularly like. Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor” is a thrilling tale of friendship, courage, and the enduring power of curiosity. Racing against time, they must decipher cryptic clues and overcome numerous obstacles, both supernatural and human, to find the artifact and put the restless spirits to rest.

I had to show support as a fellow book lover and avid reader, I loved the traction and the love the book community, as well as the world was showing Shawn. It was a compelling (almost short) story that involved mystery, suspense, ghosts, tragedy and trauma as a result of organized crime and betrayal. I loved that Leigh had her to lean on as Myra’s support contributed largely to Leigh feeling safe and comfortable. My comment is about where the murder “mystery” leads, this was my least favourite part, it was more complicated than the rest of the book and not as interesting, it didn’t fit with the book vibe in my opinion. The story is fast paced and moves from scene to scene, no long narration where nothing is happening.Early Reviewers gives out free new and forthcoming books to readers in exchange for an honest review. I enjoy reading YA but there were so many times where it definitely felt like a middle aged spin on how a teenage girl would/should think and talk. Told from the third-person perspective of its titular heroine, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor is a young adult fiction novel telling the story of Leigh Howard, a recent orphan investigating the mysterious circumstances of her parents death while navigating her new life in the Simmons-Pierce manor and her new family, along with the manor's multifaceted ghost, Ichabod Pierce.

I enjoyed seeing Leigh’s growth throughout the story as well as her internal dialogue shift from the initial thoughts she had upon arriving at the manor. Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor is a thrilling teen fiction mystery with a paranormal twist. As Swearenjin explains in his video, the situation made him think of “all the times I worked so hard and never got any recognition. The characters are realistic and relatable, the plot is full of twists and turns, and the inclusion of ghosts adds an extra layer of intrigue.I’m a 49 year old woman who enjoyed harry potters, twilights, terry pratchetts discworld and this book was just the kind of I like. Instead I got creepy vibes from an older male author writing about a teen girl getting undressed, trying to distinguish sexual vs mentor energy from older men, and let a ghost “penetrate” her body. Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor is a BookTok sensation by USA Today bestselling author Shawn M.

I found this book through the same heartwarming TikTok tale so many have and I love that story; it's beautiful seeing people support one another.

For a story about grief and internal struggles, it all boils down to an over the top action piece that I struggle to believe any 16 year old could actually go through. Warner, an Army veteran who has worked as a child therapist and later as a software engineer, had only recently decided to pursue his dream of writing full-time. Determined to solve the mystery, Leigh enlists the help of her new friend, Max, a tech-savvy teenager with an interest in the occult.

This had twists and turns and a somewhat predicable ending but I was still shocked all the same as there was one I did not anticipate. But the standout characters are the ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor, including Body, a ghost with multiple personalities who becomes Leigh’s unexpected ally in her investigation. Again, she's 16 and her response to this is a sheepish "Oh I'd deserve it" which is both unrealistic and creepy. As Leigh and Max delve deeper, they realize that the key to unraveling the mystery lies within a long-lost artifact hidden somewhere within the manor.

His goal was certainly achieved—within three days, the video had amassed over 17 million views and received comments from people around the world interested in purchasing Warner’s novel. While TikTok may have helped Leigh Howard jump to the top of the charts, its reviews are keeping it there. given the Scooby Doo trope, the characters could have easily avoided the whole ending had the multi-million dollar business tycoon asked himself “does this situation make logical sense?
