About this deal

Principally designed for commuting but capable of taking a lot more than the urban hustle in its stride, the Osprey Nebula is among the best bags of its type. It’s stuffed with padded slots and pouches for all your laptop, tablet and smartphone storage needs, yet capacious enough to hold up to 34l of gear for a day out on the trails. Weight and dimensions. There is a very slight (not noticeable) difference in weight - 2019 Kyte 36 is less than 0.1 lbs lighter than the 2016 model.

What it is perfect for is one-day epic hikes, when you need a lot of gear or fear that you may need to sleep out there. It is for the weekend and the overnight trip, and also for trips up for a week. The biggest compartment of the Osprey Kestrel 68 is of course the main compartment. This compartment is accessible from the top but also from the bottom and from the front. The top opening is large so getting my gear in – in different coloured dry bags – is easy. A cord with a pulling tab closes this entrance. The main compartment has a large red compression strap to take the pressure of the cord. The Kestrel has a large opening on the top. U-Zip suitcase opening When the weather takes a turn for the wetter, you absolutely need to keep your things dry, especially your sleeping bag! ( I slept in a wet sleeping bag in a cave in Pakistan once. It was not fun)

The Kestrel is also ready for winter duties with twin ice axe loops, an integrated and removable rain cover and multiple lashing points across the front that work well to secure crampons. The comfort factor here is truly amazing. Through our evaluation of this product, we determined that the ergonomics are well-designed. You can adjust the sternum strap too, just slide it up or down and get it the height you want. The hip belt is wide enough and adjustable, which is always nice. Let the moisture out, but don't let the inside get wet: this water-repellent model is here to keep your things dry by preventing moisture from penetrating through its fabric while letting the water vapour that forms inside escape. With a waterproof cover, you'll be sure that your belongings will be safe from moisture in no time at all. For a Better World Ospreys Customers Service is also pretty awesome and the repair centres’ communication and turnaround times are very commendable.

And this year’s model is also more eco-friendly than ever. Osprey deserves credit for pursuing maximum sustainability and minimum environmental impact here. Materials It’s not sewn to the bag and can be detached if needed, so you can take it out and dry separated from the bag. Or if you just want to use the pouch for other stuff. Whereas the Stratos 36 tends to compress gear when you’re making certain motions or carrying certain types of items, the Kestrel 38 does not. Overall, I would recommend the Kestrel 38 over the Stratos 36 due to its versatility in various hiking situations. Osprey Kestrel 38 Pros & Cons Superior external gear attachment capability since the lash tabs at the top now are expanded further so it can bear more stuff

You also get sleeping pad straps at the base of the Kestrel 48 that, as the name suggest, are really useful for attaching bulky sleep mats, or they can be completely removed to reduce weight if not required. An adjustable sternum strap helps to equalize the load and features a built-in emergency whistle. If truth be told, you can’t put a price on Osprey quality or comfort… Does the Osprey Kestrel 48 Come with a Rain Cover? During our product testing, we discovered that it features a side loophole mount, also known as “stow-on-the-go,” for attaching trekking poles. I personally found this feature to be quite handy.
