About this deal

The brothers have each spent much of the past decade behind bars after being accused of separate high-profile international drugs plots. Not so for Indiana native Tony Pancake. His distinctive name is matched by an equally distinctive career, having held the top job at several of the best-known and most highly regarded clubs in the nation. He has also been the host pro at important golf events some half-a-dozen times, more than a career's worth, all the more impressive considering the man is just past 50. It’s just the way it was growing up in the Pancake household. Golf was never forced on the children Allie, TJ, Trent and Annabelle, but they were never too far from a club. CARMEL –Coming off her round at the 2019 U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier at the Westhaven Golf Club in Franklin, Tenn., Annabelle Pancake wasn’t sure if she was going to make the cut.

He was listed as Merseyside’s most wanted but remained off the radar until two months ago when his Amsterdam hide-out emerged by coincidence during an unlinked Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) investigation. For about 30 minutes after she was done, Pancake and her parents waited in anticipation to see if she was going to qualify. It wasn’t until the last group came in that she realized, “OK, I made it.” It took her winning an Indiana State Amateur of her own to learn that both her mother (1985) and aunt, Kelli Akers (1990) won that same tournament. It all began in Pittsburgh in the psychedelic sixties when bassist and vocalist Tony Impavido got in touch with guitarist John Behrens and drummer Geoff Reidell. Around that time most of the bands that got interested in the heavier sound spectrum were listening to what Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience and other worldwide known groups at the time were doing. These three guys were no exception and they got together with the intention to record some of their own ideas in the style of the heaviest bands around. Even in a sea of local bands, power trios were practically non-existent in Pittsburgh at the time. Fresh Blueberry Pancake | John Behrens, Geoff Reidell, Tony Impavido But in this case, I might as well have been trying to memorize the phone book! I noticed there were about 75 different Miller's in the directory. When I first met all the members at an introductory meeting in 1998, I said, 'It'll take me some time to learn everyone's name, but I figure if I call you Miller I'll be right about 10 percent of the time!' "

Hello, I'm Annabelle Pancake!

My role is to make sure that everyone is having a nice time! We want the players, fans, media, members, spectators, volunteers, etc. to walk away and say, “Wow, was that a great event and the club made me feel special while I was there.” We’re fortunate to have some great employees who enjoy making our members and guests feel special! In terms of watching golf, I’ll tape it and watch it the week after so I can see how the course looks, how the holes play, how far they hit the ball, etc.

In the 1980s, Alice presented her “Two-Tee System” as a solution for female golfers of varying skill levels who typically were afforded only one teeing ground option. Alice was voted president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in 1997. As the first female to serve in that role, she strongly advocated for more women to be accepted as ASGCA members. Alice was most recently featured in the USGA Museum’s 2017-19 exhibit, “ Breaking New Ground: Women and Golf Course Architecture.” In 2020-21: Third on the team in stroke average with a 75.19, quite an accomplishment considering she had an 86 and an 89 in her second career tournament…had a 74.1 stroke average for her last 10 rounds… shot 72 or better in six of her last 13 rounds…tied for first on the team in Top 10s with two, she finished sixth at Florida State Matchup and ninth at the Clover Cup…tied for second on the team in rounds at par or better with six…made it three straight top 15s to end the regular season when she had 14 th place at Clemson Invitational…tied Clemson record with 65 at the Clover Cup on March 14….tied Clemson overall record and the Clemson freshman record for score and score-vs.-par (-7)…had eight total birdies in that round, most by a Clemson women’s golfer this year…that included streak of four straight birdies on holes 6-9…shot a 30 on the front side in that round, also the low nine-hole score by a Clemson golfer this year….that 65 was the third lowest score by an ACC player this year and tied for fifth lowest among all freshmen nationally…it also tied for the 16 th lowest round in the nation by any player…led the team in subpar strokes per round with 3.38…that was 33 rd in the nation and seventh best among all freshmen…ranked 84 th nationally in par three scoring average (3.11)_…her score counted in 18 of 21 rounds…had best score of the round five times and best of the tournament once (Florida State)…led the team in birdies with 68, she also had two eagles to lead the team…in the top 250 nationally by Golfstat (234) and Golfweek (249) at end of her freshman year.

After a single-year dalliance as head professional at Hurstbourne Country Club, a 27-hole facility cross-town from Valhalla, Pancake was tapped for another big job at prestigious Baltimore Country Club, a top-100 facility featuring 36 holes of golf, including an A.W. Tillinghast classic from the 1920s. "We had three small kids at the time and wanted to stay in Louisville, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to work at such a highly-regarded club."
