Now Maya is a character who is interested in having a great Summer with my friends and and trying to get over her break up. The great thing about this book is that as it progresses, we see Maya’s confidence grow after seeing it become a little bit bruised after being dumped. It was good to see character progression, even if it did come from a slightly sad situation. Maya also has the support of her two best friends which was so good to see in this book, as I love seeing strong friendships and bonds between characters. Maya was also a really funny character, she had some really funny lines that I actually laughed out loud at. Bit awkward when you’re on the train! i read this book before i read take a chance on me by beth garrod and even though i read these two books one after the other i still loved both of them. unlike take a chance on me in this book our main character , Maya , (under short notice) is staying in her country for the summer and working at the local beach resort as a cleaner, then a lifeguard. This book follows the same story line as take a chance on me however i think that the two are different enough to be enjoyed one after the other (unless you get bored of the same tropes over and over.) i really liked the friendship Maya and Aimee had and i liked that they helped each other out . throughout this book i found myself laughing at parts and empathising with our main character, Maya ,this book was a fun, light, entertaining and a great read to take with you to the beach.
