The number of participants involved in the trials included in this review ranged from 30–80. The trials lasted between three and six months. Perfectly good question and a degree of scepticism is entirely appropriate. Hyaluronic acid has a large polymer structure and a high molecular weight. It is exactly the sort of compound which should be broken down into much smaller molecules by the digestive process before any absorption can take place.
