About this deal

God, can someone be even more pathetic? Like, I get it. Dude’s mother committed suicide as well and he was the one who found her, so I understand his trauma. But this? To tell her—you know what? I’m just going to put up some quotes here because I’m enraged: With her main characters especially, I feel like they are my friends doing stupid things and making stupid mistakes and I just want to shake them. I'll admit, I do scold them frequently; out loud.

Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris: Book Review * The Travel Bug Bite Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris: Book Review * The Travel Bug Bite

Thank you so much to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and B. A. Paris for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. A plot that was a mix of emotional healing, suspense, gasp-worthy—and holy hotness, that made this powerful story absolutely epic!” -ARC ReaderFinn has never gotten over it. Neither has Ellen. Layla was Ellen’s sister, you see and Finn has been in love with both of them. Tsk. Tsk. Now, twelve years later, both Finn and Ellen start receiving Russian Dolls (reminders from Ellen’s childhood) and other notes and such, making them think Layla might still be alive. Finn is haunted by this.. by Layla, whom he was always been obsessed with. He can’t sleep, becoming more and more withdrawn, while Ellen is excited at the idea. Could her sister be alive? Is your pulse racing? Are your hands shaking? The answer should be yes. Ellen is horrified when she finds something that would have no meaning to anyone but her, Layla and Finn. Then she thinks she spots Layla in a nearby town and Finn must question everything he knows about the past ten years.

Bring Me Back by B A Paris | Waterstones

A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy. Years later, Layla’s sister Ellen enters his life and he feels blessed to have another chance at finding love. But as is so often the case, the past has a nasty habit of finding its way to the surface. He said he saw her standing outside the cottage and that when he went to speak to her, she ran off” I can’t say I loved this book, but I did like it. I found the plot really interesting and the twist at the end made me glad I read the book. It also made me wonder if re-reading it would give me a better appreciation for it. I enjoyed the writing and I liked reading the story from different character points of view. Although I liked the book in general, it’s hard to pinpoint why. Especially since I have quite a few criticisms. What I Didn’t LoveI like strong characters in my books, no matter what genre, and Layla, Ellen and Finn are not well described or developed. We know very little of their lives except what is happening in the present, and even that is questionable since they are unreliable narrators. Harry, Finn’s previous partner and now still a friend and Ruby, Finn’s ex-girlfriend, are very minimally described. The twist that I found amazing was quite unrealistic. There was a lot in this book that wasn’t quite believable and I did have trouble reading it at my usual fast pace. Finn and Ellen are supposed to be in love but you can’t tell from him constantly leaving the house and barely spending time with her. Yes, this is part of the story, but it made me feel disconnected from the characters. There really wasn’t much depth to any of them. Then we had the third act conflict that happened at 57% of the book. A conflict caused by the main girl's depression and the ISSUE that the guy had with it because of his mom. When Finn’s girlfriend Layla vanishes one night he’s left devastated. Like being frozen in time, he’s been unable to move on for years. Part of the problem… he can’t quite remember all the circumstances behind her disappearance.

You don’t recognize the strength you possess. But I see it. It’s who you are. Your soul is a phoenix, whether you believe it or not. And one day, you’re going to burn your demons to the ground and rise above it all.” I’m not surprised, Kristen always does that. She did it again as I knew she would. There is a space in my heart for this story and also in my favorite bookshelf right next to the rest of her books. I am in awe of this masterpiece. If you’ve loved Kristen’s book in the past, mark your calendars for July 27th and don’t miss this amazing story. And if you haven’t read anything by her, I beg you to give this author a chance. Her writing is something no Romance reader should ever miss. What about your family? Did you think about how they would feel after you died? No wonder your family doesn’t want anything to do with you.” we read intimate scenes with the heroin in the first chapters those scenes made me connect with the hero and the heroin but then we read nothing but feelings and grieving about that second chance. A mediocre apology and we, like our main girl, just have to forget every single thing he said and move on.The Top 25 Christmas Cookbooks for 2023: A Smorgasbord of Inspiration for a Happy Foodie This Christmas What I have noticed about B.A Paris' writing style is something I'm not too fond of. I feel like every character has a "paranoia" style. I'm not even sure how to describe it... It's constantly "what if this" or Omg what if this..." This gets on my nerves... a lot. So although there were a few things that bothered me about the story, overall I still enjoyed it. In my opinion, this was another clever psychological suspense novel from B.A Paris, and I am excited to see what she comes up with next. I know I'm being vague, but I went into this story knowing NOTHING and you should too. Trust me, you do not want this story spoiled for you. This was the first book I've read by Micalea and it won't be my last. Just an incredible, amazing story.
